Who is this for?

This is the final room on a child’s journey through our nursery. Children will start in this team in the September before they leave for school the following summer.

Although the curiosity approach continues to underpin the learning here, the aim of this team is to have your child school ready and raring to go!

We will start to introduce more school-like routines and develop the activities to really prepare them for that change when they finally go to school. We work closely with your chosen school to offer transitions with staff from all primary schools in the area making visits to this team during the final term.

What do we provide?

When your child is ready for primary school, we will carry out a formal assessment of your child which will be shared both with you and the primary school to provide a comprehensive handover.

It’s not all work though!

The play continues, with more use of the forest school area, alongside all the provisions we have both inside and in the main garden available to them on a daily basis.

More independent choice of activities and developing their language and numeracy will be part of their daily experience.

Throughout the nursery, parental involvement is highly valued. Sharing experiences, developments, achievements and concerns both with us and receiving from us will build that strong foundation for your child to gain maximum benefit and enjoyment from their time with us.
